AWESOME night!
Later Y’all!
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Miranda Lambert on April 8, 2010 by ekhatchNow I’m no big country music fan, you’re much more likely to catch me listening to Pantera, old school thrash, Slayer, Faith No More, etc. But I am a big fan of hot redneck chicks with attitude so I’m taking a long weekend and going to Cincinnati with Tina to see Miranda Lambert. I can’t think of anything I need more right now than to just skip town and forget who I am for a little bit and Miranda’s been on my radar for a while now. Unlike a lot of country artists she actually writes her own songs and a good 60% of them are about shooting somebody or beating up some other chick. HOT. She was even voted Esquire Magazine’s “Most Terrifying Woman” in 2009. EVEN HOTTER. So gonna go rub elbows with the hillbillies and raise some hell, probably be back Saturday.
Oh but a word of caution, as alluring as they may be, never marry a hot redneck chick with attitude, that’s why I have an ex wife, but that’s whole other post lol!
Somewhere Down the Line
Posted in Uncategorized with tags EF on April 7, 2010 by ekhatchIf cars we consider modern someday see the kind of attention classics receive in settings like Barrett Jackson, it will be cars like this. To me it’s not an unreasonable possibility, there are many similarities that can be drawn. Today collector status has shifted away from pre war classics to 50’s and 60’s cars, it’s a generational thing. The kids who had or dreamed of those cars back in the day are now in a position to relive those feelings and memories. They pay top dollar because demand is higher than supply, those cars they loved in thier youth got wrecked, rusted away, were neglected, cannabalized, and just plain discarded because they went through a period where they had no real value or desireablility. Many of those things can be said of cars most would still consider very modest like the car we take a look at today. In 20 years when this generation has some disposable income and hits a period in thier lives when they look back with nostagia on what they drove, how many will still exist in this state? They were just little econo boxes that people drove as a cheap reliable means of disposable transportation, many are already in the process of rotting away or have been molested by thier owners. If the day comes when pre 2000 imports have a collector status the way muscle cars have today, and I really do think that day will come, here’s what I think will be one of the cars that shine. A mint EF Si, never modified, never restored, just a true survivor. Already a needle in a hay stack, just think what another 20 years would do to this car’s status.

Posted in Uncategorized on April 3, 2010 by ekhatchIf you don’t check out Stance is Everything as part of your blog surfing routine you defintely should, Dave does an outstanding job and really is kind of a role model to me for how a blog should be done. If you roll on over there and check out his Spring is in the Air part 1 article you’ll even see my two humble heaps of Honda. It’s wierd, I’m flattered for sure, but at the same time a bit embarrassed, I don’t even think they’re worth posting here, seeing them on Stance mixed in with the caliber of cars he brings to his readers……I’m not worthy!
