Posted in Uncategorized with tags Corolla, Sprinter, TE72, Toyota on August 11, 2009 by ekhatchI remember back in high school (late 80s FUCK I’m old) my best friend’s neighbor had one of these, yellow on those black American Racing wheels that look just like Enkei 92s. Waaaay before words like JDM and AE86 meant anything to anybody, especially in Ohio. You couldn’t give old Corollas away back then and you certainly never saw them modified, I’ve had a thing for them ever since and the more I think about it, it might be one of the first cars responsible for my for odd taste in cars. As a teenager I didn’t dream of Corvettes and Ferraris, I longed for a tricked out ’84 GTI, and my friend’s neighbor’s Corolla. Then one day I woke up, I was old, and seemingly all the cheap rust free cars I want now were gone. The stories I could tell you guys about how many cherry $1500 Starlets, AE86s, 240Zs, VW MKIs, 1st gen Celicas, 510s, etc, you name it, I remember seeing come and go. Yea feelin’ nostalgic today, I guess part of getting older is wishing you had appreciated things like that in the moment more.

Check out these incredible pix of just how bad things are.
Unsold cars litter the Nissan test track
150 acres of Toyotas with no place to go in Long Beach
Newark, NJ ports are over flowing as well
and it’s not just a US problem, Sheerness open storage area in the UK at capacity
Hondas awaiting export in Tokyo
Port of Valencia Spain jammed with unsold cars
Peugeots sit at the port of Civitavecchia with no buyers
KP30
Posted in Uncategorized with tags KP30, Starlet, Toyota on December 10, 2008 by ekhatchI love Toyota Starlets, how can you not? I don’t think the US got these 74-78 ones but I could be wrong. This thing is so bitchin’, it looks like a little Choro-Q car, check out more on Racer86’s blog.
