You ever wonder how they get those killer high speed Import Tuner style glamour shots like this?
More often than not it’s not as exciting as you think with the photographer hanging out of a chase car inches from the ground while the subject car rips through a curve. The rig consists of a magnetic boom with the camera mounted on the end with a remote shutter in place.
It’s attached to the subject and then the car is pushed a couple of feet.
The slow shutter speed provides the blurred background and gives it that illusion of speed eventhough the car has only traveled a very short distance.
Notice the lack of a driver in this one.
The visible portion of the rig is then photoshopped out of the picture. If you look closely at this one you can see artifacts of the photoshop process and determine where the rig was mounted.
