All Good Things….

It’s official, this will be the last year for the S2000, no official statement from Honda about a replacement but given their recent cutbacks and the global economy don’t expect a miracle. In total just over 110,000 were built but only 2538 were sold in the US last year, a meager 72 of those in December ‘08. For four of it’s nine production years it made Car and Driver’s annual 10 Best list. Personally I look for the CR swan song and extremely low mile, mint, and virgin first year examples to be popular with collectors 10+ years down the road, while enthusiasts will be coveting the remaining clean 2.2L AP2s.

Czech It

Skoda Fabia S2000 (or Super 2000), killer little rally bred 4 door hatch, rumor is there will be a street version called the VRS late this year released as a 2010 model. Normally aspirated 280hp 4 cylinder, 6 speed sequential box, all wheel drive with 3 mechanical differentials. Sign me up!

Flat Metallic Paint

Is this gonna be the next big thing? All it takes is one Risky Devil or Phase 2 car to rock it to make it the 2009 trend lol!

eBay S2K

The 86th S2000 built is up for grabs on eBay and the best part, it’s never been titled and has just 65 miles on it. If you always wanted a clean AP1 it doesn’t get any better than that. I bet the worse the economy gets the more we’ll see cool, interesting cars getting liquidated, it might just be a good time to catch a deal on cars that have been stashed away by their owners.
