2008 Honda Racing Thanks Day

Every year around Thanksgiving Honda Racing puts on their Thanks Day for the fans of Honda factory racing machines of all flavors, everything from JGTC to vintage F1 to Moto GP is represented at Twin Ring Motegi for the fans to get up close and personal with. Demo runs, ride alongs, autograph sessions and motorcycle riding classes are all part of the day’s events.

Here one lucky Honda enthusiast gets a ride along in a JGTC NSX while others get to ride in the tour bus among a field of former JGTC cars as they do demo laps of Motegi

Fans get to meet team drivers and climb aboard the cars they cheered to victory

Not only are the famous cars of the past in attendance but so are their drivers

Honda’s latest street offerings are on display as well

Turns out I’ve got a bunch of pix of full time track cars so I’m just gonna post a couple everyday til I run out. A testament to the clean form follows function Honda tuning style is the fact that other than the graphics packages they really don’t look very different than a lot of the hard parking show cars I tend to post.

1st WTCC win for Honda

The JAS Engineering built Accord brought home Honda’s first World Touring Car Championship win in the hands of James Thompson. This race was the first time the car had run with it’s recent updated engine prep by Mugen. And it looked damn good doing it.
