There’s No Avoiding it Now

We’re supposed to get our first snow tomorrow. When I was younger that would have excited the hell out of me, the prospect of staying out all night ripping through the prisitine white blanket doing my best Marcus Gronholm impression. Now that I’m older and considerably more boring I dread it, freezing my arse off on smoke breaks at work, crawling home in rush hour traffic, scraping windows in the morning, ugh. Seeing this pair of 308s brought back some of that old feeling though, more of them this weekend.

Smooth Like Butta

Color schemes like this just make me melt, the way the kevlar, gold and bronze play off each other, ooohhhhh I love it. Man I wish I had the money to paint my daily. I found an old spray gun in my storage I need to check out and see if it still works properly. I’ve never sprayed a car before, don’t have a compressor and the amount of sanding involved is a real turn off, but just maybe next year. Having a storage space that had been a shop in the past is pretty cool, you never know what you’re going to find, came across an old compression tester too.

I know, it’s panty dropping gorgeous isn’t it? You know what’s weird though, out of all the cool stuff you can do to Honda hatches there’s one thing I’ve fantasized about for a while, and you’re probably going to think it’s stupid. I would love to find a way to modify the rear quarter windows on my EKs to flip out like that, I think that would just be the coolest thing. I know, I feel your “wtf” lol.

EF on Lock

Has the import community settled on an “official” name for this look yet? To me it is very VW/euro inspired, it’s not quite “hood ride”, it sure ain’t JDM hard parking. Sometimes cars like this even almost have a slight hint of old school so cal beach cruiser flavor to them. The stance and stretch, roof rack, beat hood, lots of stickers look, we need a real name for it. Personally I like it and appreciate it just as much as the super clean look. What ever we’re going to call it, this EF nails it. I can’t quite tell if it’s on SSR reverse mesh or Axis OG Sans. Probably OGs, whatever I’m not snob about it like a lot of people, I just dig the car.
