TE72 Liftback
I remember back in high school (late 80s FUCK I’m old) my best friend’s neighbor had one of these, yellow on those black American Racing wheels that look just like Enkei 92s. Waaaay before words like JDM and AE86 meant anything to anybody, especially in Ohio. You couldn’t give old Corollas away back then and you certainly never saw them modified, I’ve had a thing for them ever since and the more I think about it, it might be one of the first cars responsible for my for odd taste in cars. As a teenager I didn’t dream of Corvettes and Ferraris, I longed for a tricked out ‘84 GTI, and my friend’s neighbor’s Corolla. Then one day I woke up, I was old, and seemingly all the cheap rust free cars I want now were gone. The stories I could tell you guys about how many cherry $1500 Starlets, AE86s, 240Zs, VW MKIs, 1st gen Celicas, 510s, etc, you name it, I remember seeing come and go. Yea feelin’ nostalgic today, I guess part of getting older is wishing you had appreciated things like that in the moment more.

i do love the late 70s and 80s toyota’s…they all seem to have migrated to the west coast though..so us east coasters really can’t get a hold of em..
