Looking at the third pic, the engineer in my brain took over.
I’ve never heard anybody try to fabricate rear lower control arms that have the lower coil over mounting bolt sitting lower in relation tot he rest of the arm.
The net effect would be much like attaching lowering blocks to a leaf spring suspention, or the hot rod method of cutting and moving the spring perches up higher to make the car sit lower. Also, this would a longer stroke on the shock and spring, potentially increasing passenger comfort by not riding on such short, stiff springs and shocks…
Thoughts?

My thoughts…you’re a better engineer than me lol. The LCAs do sit remarkably level for how low it is, I know on EKs you can use EF components to go really low and keep more suspension travel, the only other things that come to mind are extended top hats or actually cutting and raising the shock towers. There’s definately some trick stuff going on somewhere here considering it’s that low with no real camber and not binding up in the front and still able to turn with wide low offset wheels. Then again maybe I’m just over analyzing it and he’s on eBay coils, who knows lol.

Either way, this guy has a bitchin’ Del Sol.
I’m going to have to give this “notched” LCA idea more thought. Causee we all know, whatever the VW guys do to get thier golfs that low, Honda Heads can one up it….

no custom shit in there, just coils and maybe extended top hats and massageing to fit 002’s
he had a EG with a b18 swap that was way more dope than this before

Good to hear Tyson, thanks for stopping by. If you live some place where you can really roll that low I am truly jealous! Let us know how it comes along, we’d love to do another feature on it negativa AT gmail DOT com
