Hydrographics
The other week I posted a beautifully airbrushed wood grain valve cover, today I saw another one, but this one had been dipped using hydrographics, sometimes called water transfer graphics or hydro imaging. I had never heard of it before and got curious about the process but didn’t turn up anything on Wiki. Turns out it’s a pretty cool, interesting graphics application method. Here’s the valve cover as well as some wheels that have been hydro dipped
and some vids of the process, the first one is a how to and shows an off road wheel beadlock being done in carbon fiber, the second one is a quickie of a rifle stock being done in camo. I just found this really interesting, it’s pretty amazing how it works. Gets me thinking about the possibilities in automotive applications.
